How can I activate the Save button in Variant Management within Ui5?

As a senior JavaScript developer, I was asked how to enable the Save button in a custom UI5 application with Variant Management for a tree table. The requirement is to enhance the layout and save the currently selected variant. I had previously attempted this solution but was unsuccessful. I need to enable the Save button along with SaveAs and Manage. Can someone suggest a way to achieve this and save the edits of the current variant?
